Default Question for Sony AR-7xx Owner with Blu-Ray drive

I am trying to update WinDVD BD for VAIO to the latest version from the following link http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...=3338&os_id=30
The link is for Sony VGN-AR7xx with Blu-Ray owner.

I have Sony VGN-SZ381P with external Blu-Ray drive. When I run the upgrade program, it gave me an error message that said: "This Upgrade Patch can't apply to your version of WinDVD. Setup will now abort..." I already used Universal Extractor to bypass model checker. So, the upgrade program should work as long as I have the correct version of WinDVD. Presently, I have WinDVD BD for VAIO version 8.08.425. I have updated the program 3 times before from Sony website without any problem. Only this latest update, that should upgrade my WinDVD BD to 8.09.301 doesn't work.

So, I want to know which version of WinDVD BD for VAIO that I should have installed before installing this latest upgrade. If you are the owner of Sony VGN-AR7XX with Blu-Ray drive, could you please kindly tell me which version you have before installing the upgrade? You can check which version you have by running WinDVD BD for VAIO, right click on WinDVD logo, click Setup, click Information tab, and take a look under Version...

Thanks in advance for your time. I really appreciate it.

This AR190G recently got the .425 version update on 1/16/2007...
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...=3329&os_id=16

This machine has XP MCE - not Vista and .425 is the latest.

Version:
8.0 DXVA B08.425

OK, according to the Japanese version of this update, http://vcl.vaio.sony.co.jp/download/SP-014603-08.html I must have WinDVD BD for VAIO version 8.0.09.253 already installed before I can upgrade to 8.0.09.301. I have WinDVD BD for VAIO version 8.0.08.425. So, I guess there is no way I could upgrade to this last version.

I would keep an eye on AR-6xx support page. The last update that works with my machine was obtained from AR-6xx support page. When do you think that Sony are going to post upgrade for AR-6xx model?

No idea.
I install updates for this AR190G only... aside from third party softwares.

Just get PowerDVD Ultra... I did.
WinDVD BD for VAIO has the remote control ability - meh.
PowerDVD was just upgraded/patched to "Bonus View" - Profile 1.1...
Also, here, PowerDVD hits the processor less when playing BDs.

Hope you get it working!
