Yeah they played this trailer before Sonic 2 on Friday. Looks enjoyable, but titles in development hell like this don't usually turn out the best.

For those in the UK, this will debut on Sky Cinema around the same time as it's US theatrical release

Sky Cinema has distributed quite a few animated films in the past however they are mostly just B-tier European CGI animated fluff

I thought this was a Kung Fu Panda spin-off when I first saw the trailer.

Just the presence of Michael Cera in the voice cast lets you know how long this has been sitting on a shelf, not to mention the fact that it seems like a rip-off of a series whose last entry was released way back in 2016.

This film restarted production around 2019 or so and was already completed in early-2022 when Paramount acquired this for US distribution

The film had been in development for quite a while and was meant to be a Blazing Saddles parody moreso than a Kung Fu Panda knockoff

those are good release options since there's no other animated films releasing after League of Super Pets until this November's "Strange World"

It's got a stacked cast, but the trailer really does give off vibes of "We promised to fund these celebs' passion projects if they agreed to be in this mediocre movie" vibes. I have to wonder how many times Samuel L. Jackson cringed having to say that "mother father cocker spaniel" line.
