Default What do you think should be Sony's next move?

I think they need to lower the prices on all players and hurry with the final spec before more players reach the market.

Movie studios should lower the prices of their movies to as close as DVD prices as possible. This will allow Netflix and Blockbuster to buy more copies. Poeple love to rent especially the movies the they've never seen before.

I know the media are going to tell poeple to wait for the digital download.
Which is impossible with our current internet connection. But if more poeple see PQ on their bluray players they know that Digital download is just not worth it.

The players will naturally come down in price over time. I don't think the manufacturers should cut into their profits simply to "force" adoption. There's no reason they would want to do this.

I don't think studios need to lower their SRP on discs either. Prices on a Blu-ray should be a bit higher than the standard DVD version. B&Ms are charging more because the turnaround for the Blu-ray version isn't nearly as high as DVD of any given film. The actual SRPs are only about $5 difference. If retailers could set the prices of new releases around $19.99-$24.99 I think the format would look more attractive to J6P. But, again, this should happen naturally. As Blu-ray sales increase the "stocking" cost per disc will come down, which will also lower the price for consumers.

It all just takes time.

Definitely. I know I would be blind buying more new releases if they were only $20.

I think they should make everything the same price. Make Blu as cheap as DVD. Make PS3's the price of DVD player's. Make HDTV's the same price as SD CRT's. Make porchas the same price as pinto's. Make steak as cheap as squirell, heck yeah
