I was shopping for Blu-Rays and I was told they are dumping the HD-DVD discs. They are not gonna even sell them at a discount. They are just gonna return them to the warehouse.

Look for them at Dollar General or Big Lots.

Yeah, I would imagine trying to push them off on misinformed customers will really just ending up in the long run making a lot of customers angry when they find out what they were sold. I'm sure a lot of retailers are going to try to avoid this situation.

I think the funnier part of the story is that you were shopping for Blu-Rays in a Barnes & Noble.

Thanks for that info. Yet it's not explaining to me to why this is relevant to this topic at all.

I'm actually surprised you found a barnes & noble that sells blu-ray or hd dvd in the actual store. I have three in my general are that have media sections where they sell dvds and cds and none of them have any blu-ray or hd dvd. I figured they were waiting it out longer to sell in stores instead of just on their website. And as to the questioning of the original posters choice of buying at B&N, if you're a barnes & noble rewards member you always get 10% off whatever price they're selling a product for (even sale prices) and a couple times a month I get 20% or 25% of coupons in my email so it can actually end up being about the same price as a best buy and maybe even cheaper. And if you use your membership and coupon on their already lowered website prices you can get some pretty good deals from B&N - even better than amazon a lot of the time. If you have a membership card or a coupon (or better yet, both), you can get a Fox title for cheaper than Best Buy would ever sell it. All DVDs $39.99 and up are automatically 10% off. Then you can apply a membership discount or a coupon (sign up for their e-mails and you'll get coupons just about weekly, even if you aren't a member) from this point. Ta-da, a Fox Blu-ray for a couple bucks cheaper than Best Buy.
