Why are we getting Bluray 1080p movies in letterbox format when hdtv's are already a widescreen format?

I can understand the letterbox thing for dvd's because people are still watching dvd's on 4:3 crt's. But who in there right mind will buy a bluray player and watch it on 4:3 sd tV?

We all want that big screen movie theater feel in our homes but we can't because a movie is not using your tv's entire viewing real estate. So a 50" lcd looks like a 37" tv when a movie is not in 1.85:1.

With bluray being the true replacement for dvd and the game is still early, we can demand from the movie studios to bring ALLLL movies in 1.85:1 aspect ratio with bitrate 50Mbs and above .. Let's make these bastard give us what we want, nothing but full screen ultra high quality.

We need to start sending emails, and start making phone calls to the studios.
