Default 5th Element redone?

Has the 5th Element been redone for BD? I know there were issues with the initial release.

The only issues were with the print. There is only one version currently and only worth buying for the lossless PCM track.
Hopefully there will be one in the future, but I wouldn't expect it until Blu-ray is more widely saturated, like in a year or two.

The movie came with my BDP-S1. Not a big fan but I watched it and I don't think it looked all that bad, but then maybe its because I watched it on a 36 inch and the problems were hidden. I'll give it another go just after Xmas with new set and hdmi cables.

So the problems only show up on the big HDTVs?

I have the Fifth Element and it looks great on my 26" LCD. Maybe that's too small?

Pretty much, if you have 1080p TV larger than 40" the blemishes are rather obvious, but on smaller TVs, they are much more difficult to see.

paidgeek, the SPE insider on AVS, has said that a new transfer is being prepared for 50GB, and will be released IF IT IS GOOD ENOUGH.

Sony learned their lesson. They'll be very careful with the key titles going forward.
