Default center channel speaker

I have my center channel speaker sitting on top of my blu ray player is this a bad idea? i saw people in the home theater pic thread telling a guy to not put his ps3 on his sub cuz the vibrations could ruin the chipset.

It depends on the weight, I personally wouldn't sit my center channel on any CE component I have. Of course my center channel speaker weighs like 61 pounds. But other than that there should not be any problems.

I agree that putting any (running) electronic device on top of a running subwoofer is asking for trouble.

As for speaker sitting on top of a player, as long as it is not on the heavy side, and the player does not generate heat where you place the speaker, then I think you should be okay.

Agreed, sitting anything on the subwoofer is probably a bad mistake. Although I do admit that I keep my GHIII controller on a stand on top of my sub, but only because it looks cool sitting there.

It's not a good idea. Rig a small bookshelf over the BD player out of plywood if you have no other place to put the center.
