Default Letters from Iwo Jima (part 2 of Flags of our Fathers) on blu-ray?

Thanks. I hear really good things about this movie (Best Movie of the Year - National Board of Review) and since it's only playing in select theatres I might not be able to see it until it comes out on DVD. It's by Warner Brothers, but wasn't WB supposed to release Batman Begins on bluray and it's not out yet?

Also, has anyone seen the movie yet? If so, thoughts? Thanks again.

I haven't seen the movie myself, but I think it's supposed to have wide release sometime in mid to late January and even then it will probably be in art house theatres, maybe. But as to it's home video release, I've heard Warner state that all of their 2007 hi-def releases will be simultaneously on both formats. But, they'll probably still be playing favorites with HD DVD and the releases of Flags of Our Fathers & Letters will have TrueHD tracks while their BD counterparts won't.

I've also heard that they're supposed to play "catch up" with BD this year as well. There are still a few movies they've released on HD DVD that have yet to see the light of day (or announcement) on BD including Batman Begins, The Perfect Storm, Terminator 3 (which would probably sell better on BD seeing as how BD supporters would want to complete their Terminator collection) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to name a few. Sadly though, I fear that because of Warner's bias toward HD DVD, those titles that had TrueHD tracks like Batman Begins will be short changed when they make their debut on BD.
