Default 50Gb HD-DVD on the way?

Could be...

Still, that doesn't win them the exclusive titles that blu-ray has.

This has been covered in other threads on this site somewhere before. But for your edification...

The HD-DVD insider (that would be a certain VP in MS) said that the fastest this 51GB TL disc can be ratified by the DVD Forum is Q3 2007.

The following are my assumptions: Extensive testing between hardware and software will be conducted simultaneously. Replication testing will follow suit after rectification. So the fastest TL disc and hardware (TL is incompatible with current hardware) can be made available is Q4 2007/Q1 2008.
