7.1 movies that work and dont work(list inside)

from HDD, it looks like its only 5 movies total that dont work. i guess its not that much big of a deal.......... right?

This is a LIST of MOVIES GREATER THAN 5.1 Channels using the HD-DTS Only Audio Codec, and whether or not they are outputting the full channels to the reciever from the PS3 with the new firmware update... I will update as info comes in...

As far as I checked - all titles with DTS-HD 7.1 are outputed from pS3 as 5.1
titles with PCM 7.1 are outputed as 7.1 from Ps3.
So sony still have problems with DTS-HD and still ar not compatible!

this "list" was made back in April.



update 2.40 seems to have fixed this.

I watched The Orphanage before the 2.40 and it was fine in 7.1 BTW.

We have confirmation that Rush Hour 3 (SkyCyberguy & Adam_ME), Hairspray (bobbyhollywood & Adam_ME), Pan's Labyrinth (bferr1), and Shoot 'Em Up (MSmith83) are outputting as 7.1 now. Sorry if I got any names wrong, I just looked real quick.

No problems here the 2.40 worked like a charm. Also, some of the new line titles having the issue of only outputing 5.1 is fixed. I tried Pan's Labyrinth and Shoot em Up and they now output 7.1 to my receiver.

7.1 surround on old titles from New Line cinema like Hairspray ,now all of them seems it work in full lossless sound 7.1

This is my first time posting so I am not sure if this will end up in the right place. Anyway just wanted to let everyone know about the latest firmware 2.40 on ps3, it finally allows the 7.1 audio on New Line titles that would only be heard in 5.1. Titles included Pan's Labyrinth, Shoot 'em Up and Hairspray. I just tested these three on my console, I have the Onkyo 605 receiver and must say that the audio sounds really impressive.

ALL 7.1 titles work on my PS3 ALL. I can post pics with the PS3 displaying 7.1, now what your reciever does with the 7.1 is up to the reciever.

I have the Pioneer Elite 92 which works perfect.
