Default PS3 with 720p projector, what output settings?

I have the PS3 with a 720p native resolution projector hooked up via HDMI. My projector can accept anything up to 1080p, meaning it will scale it down to 720p, and anything below 720p gets scaled up to 720p of course since projectors always scale to their native resolution.

I'm pretty sure the PS3 wouldn't let me un-check the 480p output mode, but did let me un-check 1080p and 1080i (even though the unit supports those and will scale down). Should I leave 1080p un-checked to get the max image quality from BD video? I can mess with it when I go home but just thought some here might know. I ask because there seems to be some confusion as to what kind of scaling the PS3 has right now.

If your 720p projector accepts 1080p i think i'd use 1080p then your projector would downscale that. But you can alwys look for a good looking film title and and one live video title and check how it looks and compares with the other settings and choose the setting that gives you the best quality. (Which one might be different between live video and film too)
