Though really there isn't a long list to choose from that I even recognize let alone liked.

Man that is really hard. You kind of have to split Waters into two eras though. Pre and Post shock movies. His technically best flick though is Cry Baby w Depp.

Which Waters film would you recommend for a newbie?

I saw Serial Mom 20 years ago or so and kind of liked it but don't remeber much.

Saw CryBaby recently and didn't like it.

I am considering to buy the UK Criterion Blu-ray of "Multiple Maniacs" or "Female Trouble" as a true start.
