Scrolling Lines - Blu-ray Forum

my tv has these scrolling lines that start at the bottom and go to the top of the screen but only when the hd is hooked up trough the component. does anyone know what would cause this?

Electrical interference picked up on the cables most likely.

You could try buying some better quality cables that may shield the signals or check to see if your component cables run close to power cables and if so move them.

ok all that is for is the ps3, i dont have that problem with my ps3, it goes through hdmi. it only does it with my hd cable. it started when i hooked up my ps3 through the component and i switched to hdmi, but it still does with the cable no matter what component plug in i use.

Get an HDMI switcher from http://www.monoprice.com

Seriously if you have intereference issues, HDMI is the way to go. Get a couple of extra HDMI cables for less than $10 while you are there. I have used these with 1080p 60 with no issues at all.

I have also run 1080p 60 over a 20 foot HDMI Monster cable with no issues.
