Onkyo 505 v/s 606

I have a Samsung 1400 Blu player and an older Pioneer receiver (about 5-6yrs). I have been watching my blu rays in lossless using the analog cables. My reviever is starting to go on the fritz and I may be looking at purchasing a new receiver soon (the timing is not good). I am looking at either The Onkyo SR505S which does not have TrueHD, but does have an HDMI input but I could probably still use analog cables (for Lossless) or spending the extra $200 and getting Onkyo 606 which does have TruHD & DTSHD.

Since my Samsung 1400 decodes the TruHD itself, does my reciever also have to have TruHD to get TruHD or DTSHD? Since the 505 has HDMI inputs would it basically function the same as the 606?
