“[The director of Rambo] announced the week before it came out on DVD that there was going to be a new cut,” said producer Cliff Stephenson, who is working on a different version of the film for DVD, which is “a little bit rearranged” and “more emotional.”

From our panel at Comic-Con, DVD producer Cliff Stephenson told the audience that he'll be working on an extended cut of Sylvester Stallone's Rambo for DVD and Blu-ray release sometime in 2009.

Well, to be fair, Stallone did announce this BEFORE it came out on BD or DVD. I remember reading it on AiCN awhile back, a few months before it came out.

I thought Rambo was too short so I welcome a longer cut, hopefully with more emphasis on the character of John Rambo.

I must be the only person who gets mad sometimes when they do this. They want people to buy the same movie 2 or 3 times with a few extra minutes thrown in there, then they have the Director's Cut, the Extended Version, the Un-rated version, sheesh, just release all of them on one disc and stop extorting money from people when you already charge too much.

Or you can just call it the BOHICA Edition. Hopefully most know that acronym.

I definitely agree, it felt short to me as well. This is certainly one movie I won't hestitate to double dip on.

Actually this news was first released over a month ago when Sly appeared on Tonight Show. Was waiting for it to pop up on the net...surprised sites didn't at least put it into a "rumor" column earlier.

I knew it was coming but didn't know it would be so soon. People might as well get ready because they are going to atleast double, triple dip 95% of Blu-Ray's released.

This movie was great, one I'd be willing to double-dip for, I hate to say. I agree it was pretty short, I'd like more, please! I wouldn't have been able to wait for this supposed longer cut though, so no regrets on this one.
