Jack Ryan question

For some reason Netflix sent me Clear and Present Danger ahead of Patriot Games, despite the fact that Patriot Games is first in my queue and available now. But anyway . . . I watched Hunt for Red October, but do the Jack Ryan films go in order, or would I not be missing anything by watching CAPD before PG? Thanks!

Patriot Games comes before CAPD but your not really missing anything if you don't watch in order. I'm actually watching CAPD right now! It's great! It has this one scene that i think was amazingly well done!

You can watch 'em in any order and not be confused. I agree that CAPD was a good film, but I felt they deviated too much from the book (go figure for a movie, right?). And casting Dafoe as Clark??? Not who I always envisioned playing him as I read and re-read the novels. Tom Berringer was always John Clark to me. But I digress.....

As much as I think Berringer would have been good in the role as well, I think Dafoe did an excellent job in the movie. I thought CAPD was the best of the series due to the whole scope of the movie.

But to answer the posed question, it doesn't matter which one you watch first.
