how soon do you think paramount will take to swing this back the blu way... im really looking forward to these. hd-dvd is due the 25th of march, maybe they could get blus out by then

depends. that date is possible with recent events.

This title as already pressed when Paramount announced their defection. There was a problem with the packaging for the HD DVD sersion and it was delayed. Hopefully, it will not be too long on this one, since I plan to purchase it.

I would get it too even though i already have the dvd collection...and even though Sum of all fears was terrible, id still get the blu ray set

The HD DVD version is listed in dvdcrave.com.au for $40 incl shipping. I pre-ordered bit and canceled it after Toshiba announcement on pulling the plug.

Paramount used to be purple. If they did what Warner did and just ported the hddvd specs, and then release the copies previously made before defecting to hddvd before releasing any newly mastered editions, then the AQ might just be dd 5.1. I made the mistake of picking up Mission Impossible and it didn't have pcm, just dd 5.1.

Just a thought.

I am just wondering if this was ever released?

I really like the Jack Ryan movies, I am one of those collectors who prefer to get the box set rather than individual movies.

Interesting, there's an entry on this site for a Jack Ryan box set, but it's still unreleased/unannounced.

At this point though, all of the movies are available individually (I might have to get the first three myself!).

I'd wager that when the Jack Ryan reboot comes out, starring Chris Pine, that we'll see a nice remastered box set tie-in.

Hunt for Red October looks good, but Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger look fairly crappy with a dose of DNR and EE.
