I need a good audio system for my PS3

Hi, i'm looking for a good audio system for my PS3, i could go with a 5.1 but i don't really have room for the rear speakers, but i could try something out. Maybe something like 3.1 would be good, suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm a complete noob in the audio area, i'm trying to read a few thing here and there, but i'm completely loss with all that lossless, codecs, true dolby stuff... So please don't blast with with tons of abreviations and audio system related words.

I need a few suggestion for my PS3, i'd like something that works well with it so i can watch blu rays and other movies on TV with full compatibility

So far, i like the HT-AS720, but i have no idea if it's fully 100% compatible with the PS3 (40 gig model)

I also have an HDbox.
