GDC PS3 news and rumours

Has anybody noticed that over the last few days there has been a raft of positive news for Sony.

1. They announce that b/c on the Euro PS3 will be in the thousands.
2. They settle with Immersion and rumble could feature in the Sixaxis.
3. They settle with Kotaku, showing that they aren't stupid.
4. They release a new dev-kit which is apparently very awesome.
5. They announce DVD-upscaling. Sort of.
6. Rumours that PS2 games will get 720p/1080i upscaling
7. Rumours of a better online environment.

Does anyone else think that the GDC will be a very big event for the PS3?

I think it will be huge. I think we will eventually get everything talked about and withing 6 months people are really going to have to stretch to complain about the PS3 and XBOX fanboys will be silenced as much as possible.

I've been hearing lots ofrumors along with the above.

All of it sounds good too.

And if that list of Videos and Demos we will be getting this month is true, I am going to be a VERY happy boy.

Also, hopefully the rumor that US and Japan will get the firmware update on the 8th of this month would be very nice too.

I'll Believe it when I see it. Tres Disappointed with the poor selection of PS3 titles along with the shitty watered down ports from the 360. Developers get off your asses and get to work!!!

Regarding Kotaku, I think Kotaku was arrogant in this situation becase...

The news they published was good news! Usually if you are going to defy a company and publish something against their will, it's bad news - muckraking. That's when you should claim the right of free press. That's when you show you're not going to be intimidated.

When you decide to publish "good news" in defiance of a company, what exactly are you trying to prove? You're just asking for a strained relationship. It's like if you started telling people that your friend is going to ask his girl to marry him when he asked you to keep this between you and him.

Other examples -

- Your brother in law gets your sister a really nice diamond necklace for their 5th anniversary. You find out and he asks you not to give the secret away. Your sister asks you if you know if he got her anything nice for the occassion and you tell her.

- Seinfeld inspiration - Your friend tapes the Mets' game and asks you earlier on not to tell him what happened because he is going to watch it later. You see him later and say "hey, how bout those Mets! Really handed it to the Yankees today!"

Killzone 2 will be shown there and there will be a playable KZ2 demo out in May (rumor)

If I had three whishes for the start in Germany there would be:

1) DVD Upscaling
2) Playstation Home (sounds a bit like Second Life...)
3) Downloadable Music and Video Content, and Connection with PSP and Walkman....

Dreaming is allowed, isn`t it..........?
