Default Insignia hdtv question

Hey guys,
I have had my tv now for about two years and i am thinking about gettin the s550.. i have an 32" insignia LCD and i cannot find anywhere if it is a 1080p.. i was curious if anyone could help maybe tell me where i can find out.. doesnt say on box or manual. im just curious.. thanks!

i'm pretty sure it's not 1080p. but just because it's 720p doesn't mean blu-ray is going to be a waste. especially at 32"

Since you started two of the same thread, I'll reply to this one.

What brand is this s550 that you are thinking about buying?
I believe that the Insignia 32" is just going to be 720p/1080i.

If you upgraded to a larger TV and one with better PQ then you would notice the difference. The closer you are to your TV the more improvement you'll see.

It's dangerous game of cost vs. benefit that we all end up playing

I have DirecTV HD too - and many of the shows / channels just blow me away!

blu-ray will look amazing on any size tv...

I have a 32 Soyo (Freebie) and I would bet the picture quality on mine is very similar to yours. Blu-ray does look good on mine but not amazing. With Blu-rays and the black bars my picture gets extremely washed out looking because it has terrible blacks. Honestly, I would put money into a new TV before i bought a Blu-ray player that is probably more than what you can get a brand new 32" Insignia now.
