Onkyo 605 price question - Blu-ray Forum

I found a guy willing to sell me his onkyo 605 for $245.00. He's had it for 6 months and purchased it brand new. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking?

A little background..He was originally trying to sell it for $290. I told him I could find it online for $260 and since it was used I would offer him $230. He countered by splitting the difference between the 260 and 230 for a total of $245. Considering I wont have to pay tax or shipping I was curious if you thought this was a good price for a used onkyo 605 or if i should wait for a better offer. Ask him if he can go any lower.

If not, take it anyways. (Don't tell him you wouldn't care. You may not save any more money.

That's a great deal for that receiver. I would grab it. Especially since that one is hard to come by. I love mine.

I have seen these refurbed for 160$ I would just buy a refurb. The 606 can be had for 250 these days...

The cheapest I've seen is $259.99 at accessories4less.com, and that's for a refurb and you still have to pay for shipping. Personally, I would grab it for $245, and I don't even need another one.

Looks like a great deal Brett. Would you do the refurb for $255 shipped? Or the 6 months used onkyo 605 for $245 total?

$245 used, Although mine was refurbished and i have no problems with it and they extended the warranty additional 3 years. I would rather have paid $20 more for a 6 month old 605.

well buying a refurb is basically like buying a new one. it has been refurbished to the original manufacturers specs. i have no problems buying re certs! I cannot wait to get mine! i think mine was $257 shipped. both are great deals, however i would still get the re cert just because of the warranty
