Hi,

Im just wondering how you store any movie posters you dont currently have up.

Rolled up in the tube? Flat? Other? and which method is best?

Thanks

Rolled up in a tube is probably how I'd do it. Smaller footprint and you don't have the chance to puncture the poster on a flat surface.

I've got a couple tubes from ordering posters from e-bay and other places. I keep posters that I am not using in there, it prevents it from being punctured against something or getting crease lines. The big thing to be careful of is not taking them in and out and ruining the edges.

I have about 40 modern and vintage posters going back to around 1963, including banners as well.

Older posters were sent out to theaters folded, but if you keep these older sheets folded then you risk fraying the hell out of the edges. Roll 'em up and put them in a sealed tube. Chuck 'em in your closet.

+1 with Stubble. I worked in the theater industry for almost 20 years. Have about 1,000 posters and who knows how many banners.

I'm the same way. All rolled up, in tubes (numbered, marked and catalogued)and in my closet (crawlspace inside the closet actually).

Kinda to the point where I'd wouldn't mind selling the collection but wouldn't even know where to start to find a buyer.

depending on how many you have and if u're gonna rotate them at all, i'd personally keep them in the frames and just dedicate some closet space for them. that way when it's time for a change, you don't have to go through the hassle of unrolling them and opening up the frame and what not.

this is what i plan on doing. but i'm only gonna have between 5-10 stored somewhere and the rest on the wall.
