Default Band Of Brothers

Although Band Of Brothers has been out for a week or so, why don't we have a official blu ray.com review? It just feels a bit strange that one of the big catalogue release we still haven't got one.

I've been wondering the exact same thing. I keep checking everyday just knowing that one day it will be there.

What questions do you have? There's a review up at TDB. It's a phenomenal set. The audio is even better then I thought it would be. A top notch release.

I'm thinking the review will say that this is an awesome set and that it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! How could it not?
For $54.99 this has replaced "The Proposition" as the biggest bang for my buck in my collection.

I don't have any questions about the release I just thought that for such a big release the review would have been forthcoming. Most people will be aware that it's a quality set but some might be waiting for this review.

I'm getting it next week and I can't wait

I have waited for the review here for few days and could not wait any longer and ordered my set. I have recieved 2 days back.

I read a review at www.dvdtown.com though.

I think it is not a full review of the set because i remember reading the same paragraphs in their review for DVD set. They just added few lines about the audio and video. Hope it helps.

I can review it and give it a 10/10 without actually seeing the show on tv or opening up my blu-ray lol. Word of mouth is that this show is amazing I really need to hook up my surround sound to get the full Band of Brothers experience.

I had it pre-ordered from Warner brothers and it is amazing, of course. I gave my DVD set to my Dad as he's never seen it before.

You should order it, you won't be disapointed. I am not a fan of war movies but my brother made me watch it on DVD, it's really amazing, must be incredible in BD.

My wife bought it for me for Christmas. I found it, popped in the first disc for about ten minutes -- the visuals are a substantial upgrade from the SDVD version. Put everything back - then told her what I'd done.

Better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission, I always say.

Anyhoo - if you liked the show when it aired or if you only saw it on DVD, you've got a treat waiting for you on Blu-Ray. If you've never seen it, you can't go wrong with the Blu-Ray set. It's probably the best miniseries ever made, outside of Ken Burns The Civil War, Tom Hanks' From the Earth to the Moon, and the CBS classic Lonesone Dove -- and it looks great.

I have to get a BonusView capable player so I can watch the pop-up PIP commentary track. But the picture alone is worth the upgrade.

Thanks. Please don't think that I'm moaning though!! I own the SD version and read the book numerous times so I know what to expect I just enjoy reading the reviews from this site as they are very well written unlike some reviews.

Looking forward to it

I haven't seen Band Of Brothers before. When my Blu-ray set arrived couple of days back, i just watched Currahee without my subwoofer.

The audio is fantastic and the video is impressive except some shots being grainy. I can't wait to watch rest of the episodes after my subwoofer arrives.

I think there are plenty of user level comments about the series on blu plus all the musings about the series on SD since it's debut that a bluray review might just be regurgutated drivel to be of any real use.

I finished the set this week (was watching 1/2 episodes a night since getting it). Definitely a top notch release. Great picture, and great sound to go with the great production/acting/etc.

Can't wait for the Pacific series and hope it compares.

This is a set that you may have to watch each episode at least three times so you can watch it as is, with the interactive timeline, and the comments from the soldiers. Without a doubt, to me, this is the best $54.99 I've spent.
