Post Post your DVD vs Blu-ray Screenshot Camparisons Here

If you have 2 copies of the same movie on DVD and blu-ray, post your comparisons of the two here. Just to show how unreal Blu-ray is compared to the standard DVD.

This thread looks promising! I would contribute, but I don't own any movies on both Blu and DVD.

I'll be doing this with Spider-Man 2 tonight, I'm expecting the BD to win.

Also...if you can try to get a screenshot of a regular DVD, upscaled DVD, and blu.

I did these "per request" for someone else.... They're just a crappy Digital camera, hand-held, of a 106" screen, 1080i image.... so those who wonder about the upgrade value of going "blu" if you only have a 1080i/720p screen........ The difference is huge

That's a Clerks reference, and you know it.

I just noticed...even though the pictures are kinda crappy from the digital camera, on the BD one, you can actually see the scales on the blue part of the costume on the back.

I showed that to my mom (I bought her a Blu-ray player, but she needs to update her HDTV.) and all she could say was that it looked brighter

That's because the resolution is bigger therefore making the picture sharper. You can tell by looking at the shadow on Spidey's face.

I like this thread. I hope it keeps going like the "Last Blu-ray You Bought" thread.

Hehe, I showed it to my mom and she said the same thing. I've been trying to show her the reason we have so many blu-rays!

I might be able to contribute to this when LOTR is released on BD as these are the only DVD's I have left. I sold my collection about 2 1/2 years ago so I could pay bills while I was out of work.

After my mom watched Tinker Bell she understood why I went Blu.

I once saw a comparison of the King Kong DVD and the HD-DVD. That kind of blew me away, so I showed it to some other people, and they were just as surprised at how huge of a difference it was. Granted, it's not Blu-ray, but if you show people that, and then tell them BD is better than HD-DVD, they will surely be impressed.

Edit: Found them. They were on the AVS forum. Credit goes to Xylon (whoever he is). They're too big to post within this post, so I'll just post the links to each.

King Kong looking sad on DVD

King Kong looking sad on HD-DVD

King Kong ready to rumble on DVD

King Kong ready to rumble on HD-DVD

You can bash me for posting HD-DVD screens, but I never bought one or watched one. I just think it shows a great example of SD ---> HD.
