Default Blu-ray Menus and Previews

I wish all the movie studios would have gone uniform on their blu-rays and done the following:

When I put the blu-ray in my blu-ray player I want the menu to start first so I can make my viewing and listening options and then watch the movie, not have to watch a bunch of previews before the movie. I'm not in the theater I'm at home.... Universal seems to be doing this one right....

You dont HAVE to watch the previews...you can skip past them. I sort of like them now and then, but Disney overdoes it sometimes

both the prestige and 310 to yuma have like 10 previews and 3 various commercials you have to skip past before actually seeing the menu. ridic.

Disney is the worst offender.

More like 15 seconds + thumb movements. Still, it is aggravating.... Universal generally doesn't have any trailers, and when it does, it lets you skip them and go straight to the menu if you want.

Or the ones that start straight into the movie and don't even go to a menu first. Warner seems to like this option. And that going to suck when The Dark Knight comes out since you need to change the audio options to get the full HD surround sound first.

I've never really understood this problem. It takes LESS keypresses to change the audio while the movie is playing than to navigate a menu. Especially if you just use the audio button on your remote. And if you want to get those missed 5-10 seconds back so you can hear the studio logo music in lossless all you need is an extra button press "<|" to skip back.

I'd much rather have this than having to slog endlessly through previews to reach a menu (Disney) or have a menu which has to be navigated (considering all studios apart from Universal have non-standard menu formats and controls).

What I don't get is in the early days of Blu-Rays they had ads to persuade you to switch over from DVD. I mean what's the point you already switched over.
