This really pisses me off!!!!! What were they thinking???? The second disc that comes with Hellboy 2 is a DVD..It's not a BLURAY!!!!
WHY???????? Even the packaging says... Special Features... 1080i/p High-Definition and 480i/p Standard Definition Isn't anyone else out there as pissed as I am about this???? I can't believe the guy who reviewed this didn't have something to say about this other than simply mentioning this! I want my BLURAY movies to ahve BLURAY special features!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't buy a BLURAY only to receive this crap!!!!!! |

This is the reason I refuse to buy that Matrix Ultimate Box Set because aside from the four movies (including Animatrix) the other discs are all DVDS not Blus.
I'll just wait until the four are able to be purchased separately and then buy those. It's blatant cheapness to not put the extras on a blu disc. |

I'm assuming it's because the disc includes a digital copy so would need to be a DVD as most computer drives don't read BD yet. Now if they should've made it a 3-disc edition, maybe, but the bonus features probably would've been SD anyways. Are there no bonus features on the main disc? I don't care enough to pop it in and see. I really hope no one is as "pissed" about this as you are, for health's sake.

I'm very well aware of the digital copies being on a dvd. The point is that the special features come on a dvd and it's even listed on the packaging as being in hidef which is NOT the case. This is false advertisement and no I won't get used to it.

as the dude wrote above, as long as the Movie is in 1080P Blu, then the Special Features are usually 1080i or 720p from what i've read in the reviews here.

Are you serious...you don't care? I sure as hell care when I buy a hd player and a hd disc...I care even more when the packaging says its in 1080i/p and hd!!!!! Have you bought the movie???Did you see the packaging? Read the back...its on there. Don't you find it a tad misleading?
why should there be a sd disc in there with sd material when I bought a BD? I know some of it is in sd, I'm not an idiot but to put in a sd dvd is just a ripoff! Here are a few movies I have with HD special features on a BD disc 2.... TDK WallE Hulk Transformers Cars Iron Man Would you be happy with those special features on dvd/sd??? |

If u look at the review, is says 'Disc two of this set is a DVD that contains several supplemental features, all presented in standard definition, as well as a digital copy of the film. First on the disc is a prologue (0:23) with director Guillermo del Toro.' normally I dont really care abt the digital copy, i really seldom use it. as for matrix, I got the trilogy from this website at Australia $$66 = SGD $66, i only want the 3 movies, not really interested in all those extras which I never bother to view them. http://www.cdwow.com.au/MATRIX-TRILO...t/view/3807838 |

Doesn't bother me at all that they're not in HD though. Totally agree with you about the medication and such though. Sheesh! |

Well, I have watched the Troll Market bit with Del Toro. Love his enthusiasm. I'm sure I'll watch him at some point. They're just not a priority.

You guys are exactly the reason this situation exists...You don't care....Why do you even have Bluray to begin with?
And just because I care and I'm passionate about something that means I need medication? Grow up! I never said the review DIDN'T mention it was dvd, I said I was surprised that he didn't make more of a deal about it not being a BD with HD content on it! The original HB was also released with crappy SD extras, way to carry on the tradition Del Butthole! ![]() |

The extras are just that.... extra. They're like the gravy on the mashed taters. The cool whip on the pie. They enhance the experience of the film. However remastering all those extras for HD, especially in the case of older films is expensive and frankly idiotic. Especially since a lot of extras are shot on low quality stock or even video. And the original HB's extras was a port of the DVD. Which were, say it with me, in SD. By the way... the suggestions of drugs and therapy were more for your foaming at the mouth reaction. And stuff like Del Butthole. Calling names. Who's the one here who needs to grow up? Last edited by Beast; 12-10-2008 at 04:14 AM. |

Anyway, I have blu-ray because I want the best sound and picture quality available to watch movies. Movies, not the extras. Truth be told, many extras are still not filmed with HD-capable cameras. They're shot with handicams or other video/digital solutions that aren't in HD resolutions. As a result, they're not in HD. So why throw all that on a BD when you don't need to? In this case, they're putting them together with the digital copy which is even better as it reduces the overall package and (hopefully) the cost to us. Your argument is completely invalid, your overreaction comical, and your assumption that we all have to think like you do is a joke. While I recognize that some people see extras as very important, in the end the feature is the #1 reason we're here. Until such point that extras are all shot with HD-capable media, this is a trend you're probably going to see continue. Either stop buying discs that have it if it bothers you so much or learn to accept it. |

sorry, your passion is fine, have at it. just me, myself, & I - all Three of us, look forward to the "FEATURE PRESENTATION" being in the full 1080p mode. The special features, extras, whatever, as someone above wrote, are usually Not filmed that way and would obv. cost quite a bit to "Up-"convert, right? it's all good friend. No medication needed.
