Default Dynamic Contrast

I have a Samsung 40A650, I love it to death but have been messing with the settings a bit lately and had a question. What odes "Dynamic Contrast" do and why do all of the online tweaks I see have it turned off? I have sat there with a movie playing and switched it back and forth over and over again and it seems to look better with it on, especially in dark screens where it makes blacks virtually disappear.

Anyway, anyone have this TV or one like it and know why these people recommend having this setting off? Should I do the same?

Personally it makes it too bright, and you lose the way the director intended the blacks to look, and it makes the picture unnatural. Its like artificial contrast. Also, have the Black Adjust "off", turn "on" the xvYCC that will give you a more natural look, I prefer the Warm 1 and cinema mode, then you need to adjust the backlight down to 4-5 which ever is your preference, otherwise it is on "torch mode" and could decrease the life of your backlight, under setup, there is an HDMI Black Adjust, change that to "low", contrast will prolly be up near 80-95, brightness around 45-60, color and tint you will have to adjust to your liking.

I hope this is helpful, and I am sure what you read online will help also, everything is your starting point and then you adjust to your personal preference.
