When Is the da vinci code coming out on blu?

after browsing it seems like i was almost sur that it had been released in france since a long while now(apparently nov 06 !) but didn t find it anymore on french online sites though.. (i saw a trailer on one of my blu ray and it was not a good PQ at all anyways..)

Would be nice to see some more big budget movies come to Blu-ray, but this is definitely one I'll pass on... even as a rental!

It was originally announced for Nov '06, then quietly pulled. Nothing since then (Sony would magically make Marie Antoinette disappear 3 months later). Anybody's guess as to when it would come out but Sony might be eyeing a tie in with Angeles & Demons theatrical or eventual home release.

They have publicly stated they are waiting to cross promote it with Angels and Demons... Is that actually still slated for next year, or was it pushed back?

Angeles & Demons? I think it's back on track and aiming for a May 2009 release.

Not to go off track, but I thought Angels and Demons was a better read than Da Vinci Code... IMO!

Didn't read this one, but I did read "Digital Fortress", which might make a good film. A different theme for Brown, compared to DaVinci and Demons.

I was wondering if anyone knows when the Blu-ray release of The Da Vinci Code will be? Amazon.ca says it is available for pre-order, but with no release date. Any ideas?

No word as of yet. But expect it when "Angels & Demons" opens later this year.

Yeah this is definitely one of those Blu-ray's that has the unfortunate circumstances of being held back simply for marketing purposes for the sequel much like the first 2 X-Men movies.

The Amazon U.S. pre-order is now up. Been waiting for this one for a long time, but yikes, the current price! I'm sure it will drop some.

That's odd that the pre-order is up already. I would have thought that the release would happen when Angles and Demons hit bluray. Still might, who knows.

It shouldn't take long for an announcement, because this title is appearing in more and more releaselists. I've seen it in several European releaselists.
