Unfortunately, I do not own the Sony blu-ray player but I can give you tips for your Bose as I own the step-up model, the v30. First thing is to allow yourself to adjust settings on your Bose. Go to your system menu and allow audio processing to be manual. Next, turn off range compression when you press settings on your remote. This will increase the dynamic range of your sound giving you higher highs and lower lows. Next, make sure Movie EQ is set to off. It alters the sound away from what was originally intended so it sounds more natural.

Try setting the front speakers at ear level(there stands will make this easy for you) and at an angle of 22 to 30 degrees on either side from the center of your tv but keep them facing forward. IMO Bose over emphasis their direct/reflecting tech and think only a little twist of the cubes will suffice. Try placing your acoustimass module as close to your center channel as possible. Due to it's relatively high crossover frequency it will play audible notes. Placing it inbetween your front speakers gives you the best soundstage. Sorry for the giant paragraph, Im using my iPod to type this
