Hong Kong Ip Man Blu-ray - 2/13 release date

Ip Man is getting a Blu-ray release on 2/13 on Yesasia. I, personally can't wait to get my hands on this movie. It looks like a really great martial arts movie starring Donnie Yen as Bruce Lee's master. Anybody else anticipating this?

Hells yes. I was gonna import the DVD but I'll just wait for this now. The trailer looks insanely awesome. Hey chisam, which is the better of the other Donnie Yen/ Wilson Yip movies? SPL or Flash Point?

Thanks for the tip, picked up Flash Point as well. From reading the reviews, sounds like my kind of movie!

personally, i think flash point is better (final fight scene is hall of fame worthy), but i've heard a lot of people say they like SPL more. so i guess from anecdotal data, its pretty much a tie.

Ip Man wasnt that great a movie... it could have been so much more ( i know they're thinking sequels but still )

and its getting a little tiring that Donnie Yens roles are all invincible! impervious to defeat and most akwardly pain! -_-

worth a watch though

is a very good movie, but i still prefer fearless over this movie because it has better action and ending. IP Man end was pretty weak. Fearless and IP man both is based on life of that martial art master, but fearless offer much more accuracy when i do some research, ip man that guy never fight that general in real life and he escaped to hong kong and leave the family behind to avoid been capture by the chinese communism not the japanse.

Pretty sure they tried that angle.. but i doubt the Chinese Gouv would let something like that be filmed or talked about in Cinema. They are pretty stick about a lot of things..

Yea, it's locked to region A which means it's good for us because we have a US PS3, but not so good for everybody else.

This is the international Blu-ray coding breakdown:

Your region-A PS3 or SA will play discs from all countries included in Region-A.

Your region-B PS3 or SA will play discs from all countries included in Region-B

Your Region-A and/or Region-B PS3/SA will play discs from ANY region if they are Region-Free.

Ciao,
Pro-B
