Default New speakers = changing things up a bit

Unfortunately, I've neglected my pictures for a while. I've had moved a few times and added a few things a long the way, but the components i purchased a while back have suited me very well up to this point.

I just picked up a new Polk DSW 550wi thanks to Polk sending me a 50% off coupon. My 8" Yamaha suited me well in the bedroom and APT setups i had in the past, but once i moved into bigger spaces i wanted something with a little more punch. I know Polk subs don't always get the best rep, but for the price ill give it a shot.

Next on my purchase list is an Emo XPA3 and a component rack for my living room setup. The absence of surrounds has fueled my desire to beef up my front 3.

I'll post my most recent setups on last page. I need to update my gallery but i need my DSLR. The Sony CyberShot i took the most recent pics with dont look great in low light.

This thread is kinda a story, all the older pics i started with will start here and all the progress ive made and other pics come on following pages. Thanks for looking [/SIZE]

Im upgrading my speakers to RTi-10s so i need to make some space and move things around a little. Taking the DVD stand out and moving the whole entertainment center left about 6 inches so the R speaker will clear with the sub being there. heres a chopped pic of what it'll be like before the speakers go in:

Monitor 40s are going to the back. When i get a more powerful receiver ill have it rti's main, 40s surround, 30s backs.

Another potential solution is to get a stand with an integrated mount. It'll sit higher, still look nice, and you won't have to mess with a wall installation. Just a thought.

theres really not much to wall mounting, it will take just as long and as much work as putting a new stand together.

i would prefer not to mess with a wall mount ( which is why i havent up to this point) but that sounds like a more expensive way to go.

yeah, and i dont plan on running the wires through the wall either, there only 2 wires going to the TV, the power cable and an HDMI, ill just use a hide rail and paint match it to the wall.

Looking are your gallery, it looks like the edge of your bed is close to the TV.

My room is something like that, and I mounted my TV on that same wall and I love it.

The Mount I am using is a one arm mount and I can swivel it around in many direction, if I’m laying down in the bed the way I pull it towards me and angle it(so damn lazy when watchin TV) or turn it the other way if I’m doing something on the other side of the room.

I have a LCD and being able to angle it for the perfect viewing angle helps also. We all know how LCD’s are with perfect color at the right angle..

The reason it's not in my gallery, I am in an apt. and I have the worst wire management going on with it.

at first i was just thinking aobout getting a regular tilt mount, but a swivel would actually be much better for that reason. you are correct this is in my bedroom, and im at my computer alot and it would be nice to beable to turn the TV towards my desk (which is in the back left side of the room) and my wires are really bad as well. Im going to work on them when i start rearranging this week

Looks like you'll be having a sick setup once all is said and done! The wall mount for the TV seems like a really good idea and it adds better lookism to your current setup!

thank you sir, im looking forward to it. Yours will be pretty killer as well. need finished pics oh and (im no expert) but i say you'd be fine with the 605 pushing those speakers. A local store here was demo'ing some RF82's with an onkyo 506 and they sounded like they were being pushed by an 806. They truly are very efficient speakers. Unlike these pigs im about to hook up lol.

Phase 1 is complete. I:

-took the Monitor 40's out
-Cleaned up wires
-Took DVD rack out
-Moved Entertainment center left 6in or so

- Getting the RTi-10's tomorrow, everything is ready for them to just wire up and go. pics later

speakers are in. WOW in totally underestimated the size of these monsters. LOL. They're awesome though. Man what a difference. Putting the TV on the wall is definitely next on my to-do list, cause its just engulfed by the speakers. sorry for the crapo quality, i think my camera lens had dirt on it. better pics to come
