Default Hands on with TC-P50G10...

So i went to my local best buy today and bugged them to bring out the G10 and set it up so i could play. I've been struggling between the S1 and G10 series and was anxious to get my hands on the G10 and see just how big a difference THX and 24p native made over the S1.

Well, the THX was of course beautiful, but I found some issues with the 24p. I kept toggling between 48hz and 60hz and when there was a lighter background in the image (ocean and sky in Dead Man's Chest) there was a horrendous flicker when set to 48hz. I honestly hoped no one around me had epilepsy because who knows what could've happened... yea, it was that bad. I'm not talking a judder in the picture, just massive amounts of lighting flicker.

Truthfully, I'm new to this technology, but 48hz is the setting that should take advantage of the 24p right? Was this flicker maybe caused by the source? A Pioneer BD player was hooked up through HDMI and playing Dead Man's Chest on BD. Do some BD's not support this setting? Also, aren't the new Pannny's supposed to have 96hz or sumthin?

Unless I wasn't utilizing the setting correctly, I'm rather disappointed in this 24p thing...
