Default Trailer Park Boys

File this one under " I watch too much TV". Anyway, not sure if anyone is aware or not, but as of March 5th, Direct TV has been airing episodes of the Trailer Park boys on their Channel 101, and they air two episodes every Thursday and all throughout the week. These are not new episodes, mind you, as they originally aired back in 2002.

Anyone hoping to catch a VERY young Ellen Page (Juno), might give the show a watch.

As for the show itself, it has the oddest cast of characters you'll ever want to see. It's shot reality show style (every once in a while you'll see a soundman or a cameraman), it's way irreverent and often funny as Hell, and of course, as the title states, it takes place in a trailer park.

I read that this show had a huge following in Canada, and finally made it to the US. I actually look forward to each episode.

So check the Direct TV schedule and look for Trailer Park Boys. As far as I can tell, every episode that has aired since week 1 is still available to watch.

Cheers!

I showed it to one of my American friends and he loves it, it's something of an acquired taste, took about 3 episodes or so for it to grow on me, just like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Pretty funny show, it IS a big hit up here. I had no idea Ellen Page was on the show too, that's kinda cool.

Ricky (grade ten graduate, the guy with the sideburns), Bubbles (the "sensitive" one, cat lover, with the Coke bottle glasses), Julian (more or less the brains behind the operations, always has a rum and Coke in hand) are essentially the title characters. The three of them get up to various hijinks, while Jim Lahey and Randy (Trailer Park Supervisor and his assistant) try to stop them... time and time again. Ricky has his girlfriend Lucy, the boys enlist the services of morons Corey and Trevor, J-Roc is the white rapper (along with his buddy T... something, I'm a little rusty since it ended), Ricky's Dad is involved in alot, Ricky's daughter Trinity. Along the way there are quite a few recurring characters on the show; each season is under 10 episodes so only about 70 episodes I think, at most, including a Christmas special and a feature length movie.

LOL love this show....

I am going to go and see the boys live next month... The are doing a "Community Service Variety Show"

The 75-minute show has The Boys fulfilling their community service requirements by performing a puppet
show at each tour stop demonstrating the dangers of using alcohol and drugs. In usual Trailer Park Boys
fashion, things go awry and the three find themselves up to their old antics, fighting, partying and singing a few songs.

Should be a good time... I can smell the shit winds a blowin

I ran into this show when it was airing on BBCAmerica several years ago. (On the late night showings, they'd air it uncensored.) I think it's been nearly beat to death at this point but it's some of the funniest TV I've ever seen. The Christmas special is mandatory holiday viewing around here.

They're caricatures, of course, but it's funny 'cause it's true: I'd swear I've known these guys, or at least their southern-US analogs. (I live in fear of a US remake.) Favorite episodes are back-to-back in season three: "Who's the Microphone Assasin?" because it could happen 2 u cuz it happened to me; and "Closer to the Heart," which should be required viewing for every Rush fan on the planet (Ricky kidnaps Alex Lifeson; hilarity ensues).

There's also the pilot project that spawned the series, a b&w short film of the same title. The situation is somewhat different; Ricky's actually left the trailer park, and the boys' racket involves offering a community service in their own unique administration of animal control. The characters aren't yet fully developed and some of them are missing---most notably Bubbles, although Mike Smith can be seen and heard screaming in Bubbles' voice at the end of the film when the sound guy gets shot .

Look forward to checking these episodes out and I will definitely be on the lookout for the Christmas Special. Thanks.

As a side note too, these do air uncensored and commercial free.

The Christmas special is definitely worth picking up on DVD, even though Showcase airs it quite a bit at the holidays here in Canada, it's usually pretty cheap. That special aired a couple years ago but it takes place BEFORE the show began, so there are alot of little inside jokes, I'd say it's worth watching some point after you see a few seasons of it to spot the references.

Cool

A lot of laughs from this show. Watching this with a few buddies and some beers make it hilarious. I just noticed recently that Ellen Page was on the show. Good stuff.

On a side note I was thumbing through the order catalog at the local video store and saw that the TPB Movie is bluray bound. Will be one to watch for.

FREEDOM 35!
