I have an Onkyo 806, and Boston HS450 Tower speakers. The receiver outputs 130w per channel, and the speakers have a recommended amplifier power of 15-200w. The back of the speakers have only one pair of speaker inputs, not 2 like most bi-amped speakers. My question is, will I benefit from running the bi-amped speaker wire from my surround back speakers into my towers, giving them two pair of speaker wire each into one pair of inputs? Will this damage the speakers of the receiver? Will there be any difference in sound?
Thank you for your input. |

in a nutshell, no.
you need to have speakers that have this capability, with two binding post to be able to do such. more information can be found here...biamp sticky you can also find numerous details to a lot of audio questions in our stickies as well. welcome to foray! ![]() |

Bi-amping and/or bi-wiring is a contentious issue and one you won't find an easy answer to. For myself I wouldn't do either, unless I knew the kind of equipment I had could actually sense the variances imposed. For your basic HT setup (like most here own, including myself) you'd have to have super-ears to hear the difference. Save the extra wiring/banana/spades it needs and buy some Blu's or better yet some vinyl! LOL!
