Default Question about Film Mode on a 720p TV, with 1080i input

Ok. My set up is a Sharp 32" 720p set, and a PS3, set to output 1080i for BD.

Because it's receiving an interlaced signal, the Film Mode option is available.

Can someone tell me what it's doing?

Is it best for a 720p to receive 720p from the PS3 for BD, or have it output 1080i?

thanks.

Have it output to 1080i. You wanna get the most from your PS3 blu ray disc player as you can.

Some would say the 720p display would be better as the frames displayed are progressive. You would have 720 scan lines displayed at once instead of the 1080i being split 540 and 540 per frame.
