answer this riddle

A detective walks into a crime scene. He finds a man dead, shot in the head. He find a gun and a tape recorder. He play is to hear "I have had it I am done" He then hears a gun shot. He knows this is a murder.

The woman was a blindfolded tight rope walker in the circus. It was worked out with the circus band to keep playing until she reached the other side. One night, by accident, the band leader stopped prematurely. The woman thought she was at the other end and she stepped off of the rope.
