LA Times confirms Efron for Johnny Quest; Efron wants to play Marty McFly

Thought I'd combine two news stories into one thread, and before the 2nd one is attacked, let me emphasize: Efron said he wants to play Marty McFly in a 4th Back to the Future, NOT that there is a 4th Back to the Future planned...(and hopefully it will stay that way). Why did I decide to even post it? Because it's a slow news day and I'm looking forward to seeing people bash Efron for trying to ruin Back to the Future (no offense to those members here that like him)

anyways...

Johnny Quest news:

Zac Efron is officially onboard Warner Bros' "Jonny Quest", according to The L.A Times. That clomping noise you hear is Dwayne The Rock Johnson running from the production... as fast as he can.

But it mightn't matter. According to the rag, Warners are considering ditching the "Jonny Quest" title altogether - and not because they're worried about fan backlash. "I hear the thinking is that the vintage animation roots of "Quest" will somehow pair it in the public mind with "Speed Racer," which was a major Warners pile-up as blockbuster films go, considering the investment, expectations and critical reception", says the site.

Zac wants to be Marty

According to Teen Hollywood, Zac Efron, the newly departed star of the “Footloose” remake (he tells Entertainment Tonight, “I'm sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge, but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. That's what's always going to appeal to me: the unknown.") may want to **** with another classic instead.

The 21-year-old star of the kinda-sorta-time-traveling film “17 Again” ‘reportedly said’ he’d like to play Marty McFly in a fourth “Back to the Future” film. But would the film be a continuation of Robert Zemeckis’s original trilogy? Or would it be a complete reboot? With Hollywood’s woody for remaking everything at the moment, wouldn’t at all be surprised if the idea of a remake has already been floated.

Thankfully, none of those involved in the original “Back to the Future” trilogy have any plans to do a fourth film. As far as the cast and crew are concerned, the series ended when Doc Brown and his beloved Clara blasted off in their time-travelling loco…

Nothing should be done with Back to the Future, let the trilogy stand as it is. No remake or reboot is necessary.

I am more concern with Johnny Quest, what happen? They can't get a deal to make a Powerpuff live action movie?

Back to the Future is the holy grail of time travel movies....it should never be in the same sentence as reboot.....theyd never be able to capture that magic again.......

I rather them make a motion capture animated 4th with FOx and Loydd playing their respective parts before I see a reboot staring Efron

+1 i wouldnt mind if Shia LeBeouf was playing as Johnny Quest cause he at least proved him self as an actor like him being in Transformers and Indy 4

I know, Zac Efron is a nobody, I mean he just got lucky with the High School Musical movies but thats it. He's not and will never be a well known actor. UGH I wish him and Miley Cyrus will just disappear.

i wouldnt mind seeing shia in the role
even though i dont like him all that much, i think he would be ok atleast for it
i like the idea of the rock being in it, if he turns out to do it, i'll go see it still
