Has anyone heard anything about Friends getting a Blu ray release?

There was a thread about shows getting the blu treatment and IIRC, the studios were looking into releasing Friends and Seinfeld on blu, but no date was announced

we just got the DVDs and that wasnt by my choice either

. I definitely dont see any reason to upgrade as she hasnt even opened the dang things

Have you ever watched the show? I always thought it was a girlie show so I never wanted to watch it, then during season 8, I happened to see a couple of reruns on TV and I have been hooked ever since. My DVDs are so beat up from watching them so many times, and I have two sets of some seasons, that I could use an upgrade.

lol when the show first came out i made fun of the people that liked it cause i thought the same thing that it was a girly show but now i have all 10 seasons on dvd and they are worn out some just skip like crazy. Friends by far is the best tv show ever!

I've seen so many of these episodes I don't think that I'd watch them if I bought them; I'm not much of a TV on DVD or BD kind of guy anyway.

Ironically, even before Blu-ray titles stated appearing on amazon.com, they had a list of shows that *would* be on Blu-ray in the beginning. On that short list was FRIENDS. 'Course, we're a couple years now into the format and still no FRIENDS. But a couple-three years ago, when the show was still on in prime time, it was hugely popular.
