Default Mickey Rourke Remakes 'Mona Lisa'

Damn is Mickey on a role or what? He's snatching up just about every single movie offered to him right now. What is he worried that his success on The Wrestler Guess might have been a flash in the pan for him? It's as though regardless of the movie, he signs on for it now. Don't get me wrong, I love Mickey's work, but seriously I wish he'd pick his scripts more carefully than just taking everything offered to him. I believe he's got about 6 more projects after Iron Man within the next year and a half. Come on Mickey Larry Clark?? He's never done anything mainstream and his movies are always about underage kids and really graphic sex between them.

Quote:
Mickey Rourke has signed on to star in a remake of classic 1980s Brit gangster pic "Mona Lisa."

Rourke will play an ex-con who takes a job as a chauffeur for a high-class escort. Eva Green is in advanced negotiations to star opposite him. Bob Hoskins and Cathy Tyson starred in the original 1986 pic directed by Neil Jordan.

Helmer Larry Clark ("Kids," "Wassup Rockers") is writing and directing the remake, which is being produced by Handmade Films with Handmade Films Intl. handling worldwide sales. Lensing is set to begin in New York in July.

Rourke's deal was brokered by agent David Unger, Bill Sobel of Edelstein, Laird and Sobel and HandMade's Patrick Meehan.

I love Bob Hoskins in the original, although I had seen The Crying Game beforehand and both films felt eerily similar.

I can't see how Larry Clark will be able to restrain himself enough to make this film...maybe the girl will be 12 in this one.

Exactly my point, he kind of seems like a Pederass who just makes indie films, instead of going all the way and just filming underage kids having sex, although having see some of his films when I was in high school, I'm pretty sure everybody was actually having sex, so nevermind, he doesn't restrain anything, he is a Pederass.
