Well if it wasn't for that bonehead play, Oregon would probably be down entering the 4th quarter. Still a one score game.

I think the Big Ten killed their chance of a playoff team today with Michigan St. losing. Ohio St. will get a bit of a boost but I'm not seeing how they make it back to the top-4 with a garbage schedule left and only ranked #14 at the moment.

I was looking at some mock drafts today and most have the Jets taking Jameis Winston at #3. Some actually have them taking him with Mariota still on the board. You better talk some sense into the Jets front office. They'd be making a huge mistake taking Winston.

Does he forget they lost to Virginia Tech? That is a BAD loss that is likely to keep them out of the playoffs.

I would speculate about what the best case for MSU is now, but I know the bowl-conference connections have been all rearranged this year, so

OSU wanted it more and they played like it. Well get a bowl game but wont be in the Big 10 title game.

Yeah, I just don't know which bowls are associated with each conference since a lot of that changed with the playoff this year. For the rest of the year, MSU will probably be getting jumped in the rankings quite a bit (of course, I mean after the big drop that's going to happen this week). A team with 2 double-digit losses isn't going to compare favorably to many other teams.

So top 4 is Miss St, Florida St, Oregon and then who? TCU or Alabama? Alabama was higher but had to pull off a close one, while TCU absolutely demolished a higher ranked opponent. LSU was Bama's best win and realistically their first win that could be considered a good win. This was TCU's 4th win over a ranked opponent, and the second over a top 10.

End of the year, 1-loss Bama tops 1-loss TCU, but I think TCU should have the edge right now.

I'm only surprised he still doesn't have Notre Dame in the top-4, even after another loss. I think Holtz is retiring (thank god) after this season. Most of the time he just mumbles random things these days.

Who knows? They said he could play Thursday but when Stoudt was hurt, again, the third string QB was warming up not Watson. If Watson can't go then CU has no chance to win that game. Stoudt is horrible!

Gawd the college football playoff rankings make even less sense than the old BCS rankings did. They put a 1-loss Oregon team ahead of an undefeated Florida St. team. And they put TCU (36th in SoS) ahead of Alabama (4th in SoS). I'm thinking at the end of the season this 4 team playoff is going to create more controversy than the old 2 team BCS title game did. They really should have just made it an 8 team playoff right off the bat. We'll get there eventually anyway.
