Yeah it does. I worry about the console release timeframe though. It's usually at least a year from arcade to consoles. I guess/hope it'll be worth the wait.

Hope it doesn't take that long. I know MKX and Guilty Gear will tide me over for the fightning games but Tekken 7 seems to be the next AAA fighting game being released after those 2.

Heh, I'm hoping to pick up Samurai Warriors 4, but other than that, Tekken 7 will be the one of the only fighting games I'm planning to get. Hopefully Q4 2015 if we're lucky.

This was posted a few days ago, not sure if anyone is really following this too closely:

http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/2/7480...rabian-fighter

Shaheen is the new Saudi Arabian fighter in Tekken 7. TBH, i'm not sure how I feel about this. Do Saudis have a unique fighting style or discipline that i'm unaware of or is this Namco just trying to play to a new fanbase? Since fighters like DOA, Tekken, etc are usually pretty weak in the storyline/lore department, the characters themselves need to bring something fresh and unique to the table to grab the player's interest. For some reason once I read this news I thought it made as much sense as adding an Italian sumo wrestler just to please Italians. I guess we'll have to see what his fighting style is

I thought it was a play on one of the Saudi men that were deemed "too good looking" and forcibly removed from a culture festival in Saudi Arabia by police

I think he's pretty cool, actually. As someone with Muslims in my family (although not ethnically Middle Eastern) it's nice to see a Muslim character without a bomb strapped to his chest. Saudi isn't anywhere near my favorite Middle Eastern country, but I can see how the clothing Saudis wear can be visually interesting. It may be pandering, but it's pandering to a group that doesn't usually get pandered to. Like I said, it's kind of nice to have a Muslim character that isn't a member of ISIS or Al-Qaeda. (At least I'm crossing my fingers that he isn't in Al-Qaeda)

As far as I know, there isn't any specific Saudi martial art or fighting style. Abu Dhabi does routinely hold a massive grappling tournament where the best wrestlers, Judoka, and Jiu-Jitsu players in the world compete. A number of UAE grapplers do quite well, but it isn't a tournament regularly won by Saudi nationals. They like Martial Arts as much as the rest of us, though.

Well, this sure is useful if you don't want to start at a disadvantage at the start of the fight.

I definitely care It could be because of the timespan between arcade and console release, which is at least a year between them. I'm waiting for Yoshimitsu to be unveiled and wonder what kind of crazy design they have for him. As it happens, I'm really looking forward to this.

Yes it was and still is in my opinion.

I do not want to get into a debate on what is better or which is better.... But based off of my opinion, To me Tekken is a better game.

I only played the ones released on PS1. Alls I know is I had more fun with those games in that generation then the MK's, DOA's & probably SF's of this generation.

Back in the day I was a big Tekken fan and was good in that game. I still remember when I saw the first pics of Tekken 2 in a magazine, I literally freaked out - was 9 years old at that time. Sure I played MK games on Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Play Station, also Street Fighter 2 on Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, but Tekken was my shit.
While playing Tekken 5 I realized that it isnt the same feeling anymore. It the same shit again and again. I didnt enjoy Tekken 5 that much and never have played Tekken 6 and I'm not interested in part 7.
See what Ed Boon and his team did to MK - they brought the series to the next level. Be it the 3 different sytles you can switch during the game in MK Deception or be it the "free fall kombat" and "close kombat" in MK Vs. DC or be it the X-Rays in MK9 or be it the interacting with the levels and the different variations of each character in the upcoming MK. That's what I call innovative and creative. When Netherrealm will follow this path then we will see great MK games in the future!!!

See Street Fighter 4 is like part 2 but still better than the latest Tekken, because the presentation of this game was/is awesome. Really a great design.

MK and SF will be the beat em up I'll play the next years.

Default Tekken 7 adds Yoshimitsu.

He’ll be playable in the arcade version starting May 12.

I was waiting for Yoshimitsu to appear. Personally, I think he looks quite cool. He's the one character whose appearance always changes, so I'm not surprised they went for something like this.
