I thought November 18 was the Indiana Jones quadrilogy? (seeing as how most of Spielberg's summer releases over the past decade have been released on DVD/ Blu-ray on the third week of November). Maybe we'll see it the week before, or November 4 (imagine- Indy 4 on Nov. 4), which would mean that Wall-E and whatever Pixar catalog title it is this year gets bumped to October.

I saw somewhere that Indy 4 was slated for October sometime. Like Spider-Man 3, it will most likely be towards the end of October. Wall-E is pretty much set in stone for a November 4th release. But I really hope this is true for The Dark Knight as I would much rather have it sooner than later.

Only Netflix rental. Are you kidding me? This movie is going to kick ass on Blu-ray. It will probably be the best movie of the year.

Not to mention if the HD transfer is any indication, it should look amazing.

This movie sorta make me want to wait for the Bluray release to watch it for the first time because the picture quality of theater might not be as great as the Bluray version. I really want to see this on the very best possible format. But I know I won't be able to wait that long.

The quality in the theater should be better than the blu ray if anything, assuming it's a somewhat modern theater. Not to mention some films are meant to be experienced in a theater and this is without question one of those movies.

This movie calls for a double dip both theatre and the blu-ray

I really think Warner will go all out for The Dark Knights blu-ray release. I mean it is Ledger's last performance and the most anticipated movie of the summer. I really am hoping the November 18th release date is set in stone. It will be exactly 4 months from July 18th (plus right before Black Friday). Just seems to make sense. Unless they do as they did with Harry Potter 5 and release it the second week into December. What do you guys think?

Check this out...Nolan discusses the blu-ray.

http://www.ifmagazine.com/new.asp?article=6466

Nolan and Thomas both brought up the anticipated Blu-ray version and its capabilities. Nolan summed it up by saying, "The Blu-ray, in particular, will be able to actually use the shifted aspect ratios as it appears on the IMAX screen because the 16:9 aspect ratio is sufficiently different from the 2:4 that you'll actually see a shift on the Blu-ray. The resolution on the Blu-ray is clear enough that you can actually see difference in grain structure and sharpness. So I think it will be quite spectacular."

Wait a second. So we'll be getting a cropped 16x9 version on Blu-ray instead of what we're going to be seeing in normal theaters?

What a crappy decision.
