Just got my item from DeepDiscount. In a cardboard wrap.

Darn. And the result is exactly as I expected. There's tearing in the top of the front and back cover, the bottom is misaligned, and the back cover is warped.

Here are the photos for details:
[Show spoiler]

Its value definitely went down; I guess I'm just Mr. Unlucky #8,101

Just a warning for those who ordered from DD; it may not be a pretty package. But whatever, I may keep it as is.

Did anyone notice any issues with edge enhancement on this? I saw some complaints on caps-a-holic but I didn't notice anything.

Honestly, If it's under $45, that would be the time to bite. I would do the same if it's on that price range (and I only do so because I already have the item, however slightly damaged, so there's no regret in missing out on this gamble).

The PayPal charge from DeepDiscount got posted on my credit card account so I guess that means it was shipped.

But looking at the pictures on the previous page I hope mine doesn't show up like that. If that was mine I would make a fuss.

Also, are these limited editions numbered?

Thanks
Yes, it would have to come with a slip because inside is 2 separate cases and a book. And you probably saw by now they are numbered.

I dunno why they call it a "musical number", a bit misleading, it's just a scene in a nightclub where the girlfriend works as a singer. It plays out pretty much the same as countless such scenes in other regular movies. Never steps out of "reality". Either way, it didn't stand out or bug me. To each his own, but I really loved the directors cut (which was my first time experiencing the film). The theatrical wasn't nearly as bad as it's made out to be, but I probably will hardly ever watch it again, unless I just wan't to chill out to a "highlights reel" of the film.

Also pretty cool we have the first and last numbers represented by members in this thread. Still no word on 666 though, maybe I should check other sites or google it.
Wasn't aware of an issue. Mine is 8,300something, so I probably don't need to worry, right? I didn't notice anything wrong, what should I be looking for?

One more question: I got around to watching the Theatrical last night, but because I was so familiar with it from just watching the DC and all the extras, I started to drift a couple of times. In the extras I got the impression the theatrical cut had the button face mask
[Show spoiler]talking to the doctor
, which I thought was pretty lame. To my relief, I didn't see that when I watched the theatrical cut. But did I just miss it cause I nodded off for a second?

There aren't any issues that I'm aware of, though I've yet to watch my copy. I think the general consensus is it's an excellent release. I think it was meant more as a joke, perhaps referencing the audio sync issue in the Halloween set, or all the trepidatious speculation prior to it's release.

Agreed...it's now a matter of jumping in now or waiting just that little bit longer to see if there are further reductions.

Well whatever it finally becomes you do know that you can call and get the difference refunded to you as long as it's not past 7 days AFTER delivery right? So just grab it now and watch it over the next week or so.

Also if the price goes back up on amazon, importcds.com has been having it at about 49 to 50 since pre-order. I couldn't resist at that price. Seems to be the best price for places that ship overseas. If your really strapped for cash, I think the Directors cut with the features on the standard edition is the main attraction (the lengthy featurette illustrates most of the differences between cuts), but I'm glad I got to see the other extras and Theatrical cut as a curiosity.

It COULD be, but I wouldn't know. And keep it mind, this wasn't the first time I bought a package from DD with an item that's a bit warped, although that item (The Last Story limited edition) is not as damaged as the one I received yesterday.

I pre-ordered mine in early October for 71.95. Last night I saw how far the price had dropped so I asked for a credit for the difference rather that return it (which I had until December 4th to do). They gave it to me with no hassles. My point is, if you're on the fence about buying it, you might wanna get it now and if the price drops, ask for a credit for the difference later. I think Christmas season is when it's gonna be the cheapest.
