Default Jurassic Park Release Question

Now, now, before you get all riled up like some of you usually do - this is not a "Whens arr teh dinsaurz comin to bluRaY" thread.

It's a DVD release question.

I could swear I've seen it, but - is there a DVD release of original Jurassic Park that features a DTS soundtrack instead of the Dolby Digital? The roars are so muted on the my DD version.

Thanks in advance! And just in case your answer is one of the following, here are my responses.

Quote:
"What are buying DVDs for? They arez teh suxorz"
It ain't your money, don't worry about it.

I am, $5 on eBay won't kill me, sheesh.

Make sure you get the version with the red dot

The original pressing was missing the LFE (or something similar)

Wait, what - what red dot? This LFE is very important. You mean the red dot as in the DTS logo? Or...dammit, Wicky, now I'm confused.

or you can pick up the Superbit version, it has DTS as well

*edit*
n/m then, if you really want the Superbit version expect to pay a couple hundred, heh.
This is very tempting for me to sell my trilogy box on ebay and make some cash, plus my version is region free and not region 2 like this one is

These are the ones I have and they are great. The DTS on these was a huge jump over the DD kind of like in Saving Private Ryan.

Dude, Superbit is a Sony/Columbia Brand and has nothing to do with UNIVERSAL. There is no Superbit for these.

I've got the Dolby version. Not worth a "dvd double dip" lol. I'll just wait another 4 years for the blu-ray version to come out. I didn't notice the sound was low during the movie.

it says Superbit on them, so therefore they are the "Superbit" version

yes I know that it was a sony thing but there is a difference in quality between my normal dvd and the "superbit" version and that is all that matters to me

I know, but Im a sound enthusiast here - for $20 for all 3 used, I can't pass up the double dip. I know it goes against some Blu-morals. Has to be done.

And what the heck? I didnt even know Saving Private Ryan had a DTS encode!! Mine just has the DD...dammit!

EDIT: Perhaps it is all my Spielberg films. My War of the Worlds and Minority Report have them, and I assume my other Spielbergs either have them already or there are versions with them...must investigate this matter...

I still watch my Jurrasic Park DTS LaserDisc, for being 12 years old it still rattles my windows!

Assuming that Jurrasic Park IV still makes a 2009 release, you may only have to wait until then...

...Quest proving impossible - morale dwindling - foodstuffs running low - sellers of used copies seem to have the old pressings - those selling new copies dont want to break their seals - AAARGH. I did pick up the Lost World DTS 2-disc set for cheap though, now to track down the elusive proper pressing of the first JP!

Must have T-rex attacks at 755 kbps with solid LFEs until the BR comes and holds me over!

Check this, marine - Wikipedia (reliable source that is, albeit a referenced one) - states that an older draft for JP4 was based around five genetically enhanced Deinonychus (think larger Velociraptor) mercenaries. I think they dropped that idea.

Sounds ludicrous, but - no lie - I would pay to see that. Pull the ol' Austin Powers and give em lasers on their foreheads, and that's it for mankind, I'm sorry.

+ Neill, if they brought those two back I'll be very very happy, not worried about Dern after JpIII, that ruined their relationship.

Universal never released anything under SuperBit because that is a Sony Pictures brand. The pics of that eBay listing are for Asian bootleg copies of the DTS versions.

The only thing that is proof of is bogus product.

Those were only released in Japan, because Columbia had the rights to distribute those movies in Japan, and not Universal. They are in fact legit.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%B8%E3...5625841&sr=8-4

These are all the titles that are Japanese Superbit titles.
