Onkyo 606 with PS3

But with my PS3 (video and audio to the amp over HDMI) there is quite a bit more static even at moderate volume levels so when there is quiet parts in a game or movie, it is quite noticeable. I have my PS3 set up for PCM over HDMI, and I think I have everything set up right. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? I've thought about getting a better power bar with "Clean Power" or whatever they claim, are these worth it? Thanks for any ideas.

Hook it up without hooking the amp up, if there no noise, it's definately your
amp, i beleive also your ps3 should be set to bitstream for audio......

check the thread for setting up 605/606 there shouldn't be a difference....
