A warning for anyone who ordered The Fifth Element:

I got my copy of in the mail today. It's a nice looking SteelBook, however the disc is the original version (not the remaster). It's a BD25 with MPEG-2 video and no Dolby True-HD track. You would think that maybe it's a mistake, however the disc art matches the SteelBook so it must be intentional.

It's kind of a sketchy thing for Sony to do. Are they trying to unload a bunch of old copies hoping nobody will notice?

Not if the discs have new disc art. Rather, whoever was in charge of manufacturing the discs used the old disc master.

I ordered a bunch of them but have not received The Fifth Element yet. I will have to check it once it comes in.

my copies of snatch and stripes haven't shipped but I got my copy of superbad and fifth element.

both are showing out of stock even though I pre ordered them like the first day they were added to the site so kinda lame.

Another funny thing about this order is that shipped each in a separate padded mailer. I came home and found 12 of them stacked up at my doorstep.

Received two copies of Easy Rider, both with significant damage to the inner edge in the same spot. Scratch 2 of the 50 off the print run.

What's worse, is the damage was definitely pre-shipping. The box they came in arrived flawless. Could definitely be more of them like mine.

This site shows the Futureshop (Canadian) steelbook with the same artwork as the BestBuy exclusive but with the remastered disc listed in the specs. Can anyone confirm that this is correct? Just trying to determine if all copies of this release have the inferior version or if it's just the US Bestbuy one that's screwed up.

I can't speak for member number42, but tilallr1 appears to be from Canada and he confirmed the disk is not the remaster. I don't think they were dealing with the Best Buy version
