Started regularly watching repeats of Midsomer Murders around the time that the 100th episode "The Killings of Copenhagen" was first shown on ITV. Some of the Neil Dudgeon episodes (the episodes when he plays the lead detective) have been repeated on ITV, with the episodes from when John Nettles was on the show being repeated on ITV3. Only trouble is, the order ITV3 show them in is all over the place. It helps that on the whole the episodes are separate, so it isn't too confusing. One episode will be from the Barnaby and Troy era, and the next episode on ITV3 is from the Barnaby (John Nettles) and Jones era.

No Blu-ray releases of Midsomer Murders in the UK at all (there have definitely been US Blu-ray releases of the more recent episodes, and recently there was a German Blu-ray release called Inspector Barnaby: Set 21).

When are the next new episodes due to start on ITV?

EDIT: Moderators, can this thread be moved to the TV Shows folder please.

Yeah, I ended up watching the show and love it. Cast is great and the mysteries are good. Still need to pick up the BD release.

The next season is going to air in 2015 sometime.

Have about a handful of episodes from the Barnaby and Troy era left to watch (most recent episode I've watched was "Dark Autumn", which on the whole was excellent). Can't remember when ITV3 last showed an episode from the Barnaby and Scott era (the seventh and eighth series).

The recurring characters are memorable (in a good way) on the show as well (thinking of characters Cully (Tom Barnaby's daughter, played by Laura Howard), George (the coroner during John Nettles' time on the show and the first few episodes from the Neil Dudgeon era, played by Barry Jackson), Stephens (played by Kirsty Dillon) and Joyce (Tom Barnaby's wife, played by Jane Wymark).

Something I've noticed is that a village pub is seen in nearly every episode I've watched. And is George a coroner or a crime scene investigator?

I've seen most of Barnaby's episodes and none of John's episodes. Gonna start collecting them on BD this Christmas hopefully. Catch up that way.
