This. I got the bluray last year. A Christmas Story and Jingle All The Way are my other favorites. |

Filmwise. My wife loves A Christmas Story (which doesn't do too much for me - the different take on it might be because she is American and I am British). We both love Scrooged.

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is a must watch, and definitely my favorite version of A Christmas Carol. A Christmas Story, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Christmas Vacation, Claymation Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Mickey's Christmas Carol, and A Garfield Christmas are all great too.

It's weird, but I'm almost 36 and I have never seen Rudolph or any of the other Rankin/Bass stop-motion specials. But I have seen Frosty the Snowman, which I've always enjoyed.
A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Garfield Christmas have always been favorites as well. There's also an old Disney special called A Disney Channel Christmas that aired in 1983. My family recorded it on VHS and it was a big favorite to watch each year when I was growing up. I've since made my own personal DVR copy so that I can continue to enjoy it these days. It always takes me back. And I love, love, love the 1984 television version of A Christmas Carol starring George C. Scott. It's my absolute favorite version. I didn't first see it until my 5th grade class watched it in 1989, but I've watched it every single Christmas season since then. It's absolutely wonderful. |

I love most of the ones mentioned above. I enjoy Die Hard and Lethal Weapon and though they take place at Christmas, I don't really consider them Christmas movies, lol (I can watch them anytime and enjoy them

Do you think any more of the Rankin/Bass christmas specials will be released onto Blu-ray? Like A Year Without Santa Claus, Frosty's Winter Wonderland and Jack Frost.
There's also this exclusive set which seems to be OOP which included The Little Drummer Boy / Cricket On The Hearth / Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol which haven't gotten their individual releases yet. |

None. I don't even celebrate Xmas anymore.
However, if forced to choose, it would be Bad Santa. As a matter of fact, I may very well watch that this Xmas, since it's been a while since I saw it. Just checked, Netflix still has it for streaming. I may watch that and Happy Christmas, which I really enjoyed. |

I mean, when I was a kid it was exciting. Having a tree and all that stuff. Getting up in the morning and unwrapping presents. Etc. Now though? It would just be more trouble than it's worth, frankly. I'd rather sit back on the couch, pour a vodka/tonic, put LotR EE in the BR player, and chill out with Middle Earth. Or have a mini Kevin Smith marathon. Or watch a bunch of my favorite Hitchcock movies. And I don't want to have to get dressed. That's key. ![]() |
