Well I've officially got 2 weeks work for the rest of the year then we're off to the UK (via a quick stop to my favourite place in the world: New York City). Going to be an epic trip thought I'm not looking forward to double dose of winter this year. My bank balance is looking pretty sad too.

It's a shame both Entertainment House and Mondo Kim's are now closed in NYC. I spent hours in each in awe at their selections and pricing when I was there last (and at the time the AUD was 1:1 so it was even better!)

Ohh and for those that care I'm up to 570 films for the year. Plan is to hit 600 before the year's out

Enjoy your trip. Sounds fantastic.

600 films in a year. Wow. Nice work.

Hmm... both JB and EzyDVD have pulled their listings for Batman: The Complete Series. Now they've only got the DVD listings. Still listed at Sanity for the moment. No mention of Blu-ray on Warner Bros site, just DVD. Not a good sign...

well, not that this means much, but it does still appear on the Warner B2B site with a release date of the 10th of December

Cool. Well that's at least something, though it was December 3rd before that and originally in November. I'm wondering whether each of these setbacks means we might be getting what I suspected all along - the basic set and not the Limited Edition version. That date is consistent with the release date for the standard version in the US and the standard releases in some European countries also bow around that time.

Not that I can afford it at the moment but I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on the Xbox One and PS4

Own a ps4 so far so good
The list of releases that interest me are pretty few and far between so far I'd say it was def rushed out early
Graphics are very good as you would expect
I must admit I'm missing the xbox 360 controller for 1st person shooters
Even though the ps4 remote is a massive improvement on the dual shock PS3 controllers I just always preferred shooters on Xbox because of the controller

Just looking at this comment... Lol @ "outdated", I'd rather actually own my movies and have them in the best quality possible.

yea I prefer physical media, good for back up if you have stored files on a faulty HDD or have a variable net connection

I see a lot of those comments online, i've given up trying to explain why I and others would prefer physical media. They always respond with things like "it could get scratched" or "someone could steal it" or it "takes up too much space". I'm not saying those aren't valid reasons but I very much doubt a thief would go for my blu rays or dvd's lol, it's usually one person they're better off just taking off with the TV or laptop.

*Sigh*

Surprisingly underwhelmed by the Jurassic World trailer Too futuristic and WAY to much CGI.

Pan, on the other hand, looks awesome.

I decided to take the plunge and invest in a Blu ray drive for my Macbook. I am currently unable to have a television, just a laptop, and had no way to watch Blu rays, so it made sense.

Set me back $124 from Mwave including shipping. Works beautifully, though I needed to get some additional software to actually play the discs. All sorted now, thankfully.

The quality is flawless, as expected. Screw watching DVDs on my laptop, Blu rays look sensational, even on a small screen.

Nice one Sounds like a pretty good price too. Is it an external one?

Yep. Nice little Samsung model attached by USB. I plugged her in and my MacBook could instantly read Blu-ray Discs. I was chuffed.

I confirmed with Warner PR today - DVD is lock for 3/12, Blu-ray is lock for 10/12.

RIP Hughesy.

Getting a bit sick of everyone thinking this is anything other than a freak accident.

Indeed. Could have happened with any sport. Risk is always involved.

they were saying Hughesy's helmet was not up to current standards. that the ball impacted on the main artery at the back of his brain, I can not label that deliberate. I feel for the bowler, and wish all involved some eventual peace.

I can see them adopting a Baseball style helmet to prevent this from happening again.
