For Rep of Ireland
Zavvi is cheaper than Amazon.uk

Amazon.uk £15.72 + postage £4.30 (Standard postage)= £20.02 = €25.49 Euro
Note
Amazon.uk now only use couriers for delivery to Rep of Ireland and needs signature on delivery for standard delivery and free super saver delivery
Takes over a week for delivery
They increased the standard postal costs more than double

Previously Amazon.uk used An Post or Royal Mail for delivery
Delivery with An Post was in 2-3 Days with no signature needed
and was cheaper postage costs

Zavvi €23.05 Euro with free delivery

Zavvi is €2.44 cheaper and delivered by An Post straight into your letter box

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon with another movie to get free shipping, so I saved over £7 compared to Zavvi's price. So it depends eh?

Are you sure about the changes to Amazon's delivery methods? I noticed that an increased number of items (especially movies) are sent direct from the U.K via Royal Mail, which has become a bit slower to deliver to Ireland as of late.

Other than that, nothing seems to have changed from my experience. I still get some things sent from Dublin via An Post e.g Video Nasties Guide 2. I always use free super saver delivery.

I think its purely a matter of stock location. My guess is if they anticipate enough orders dispatching to Ireland, they will warehouse some stock in their Dublin fulfillment centre. I also remember reading that sometimes they use their own courier to "inject" stock from their U.K warehouse into Dublin , for final delivery via An Post. This would make sense for those orders that remain in the "Dispatching now" state for 1-2 days (typical courier delivery time fro U.K to Ireland) before getting a "Dispatched via An Post" email.

Anyway, I'm personally delighted to be getting this at a nice price. I had to cancel my Zavvi order as £22.99 was just too much, so I had previously relegated this to the "buy it later" list :P

They started using couriers last 2 weeks if you look at the postage costs for Ireland it gone up a lot
They now use I-Parcel = Fastway Couriers and DHL
All of my orders from last 2 weeks were couriers deliveries
This also was for Free Super Saver Deliveries delivery by I-Parcel (Fastway Courier)
They were new releases and one back catalogue item separate orders

You will notice this when they start to ship your Pre Orders

I made a complaint to them about the big post cost increase and for now using I-Parcel instead of An Post or Royal Mail
This is a pain as you have to be at home to get delivery

Third Party sellers on Amazon will still use Royal Mail

Whoah, my last order was more than 2 weeks ago so I didn't know that.

Could you arrange for someone else to accept deliveries for you? Your local shop might not mind taking them in for you.

I've had iParcel deliveries from Amazon UK and US (possible Germany as well), but they were all passed onto An Post. Since you said its taking around a week to deliver I guess its the economy IParcel service

From Second Sight's Facebook page

"We have had several enquiries regarding our release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. We can confirm that the new restoration included the replacing of a fade to black with a hard cut to black in the opening camera flash sequence. This was in fact a change made during the restoration process in conjunction with Tobe Hooper. While we of course respect this decision we have decided, with approval, to include the fade in our release to adhere to the original vision.
With regard to the audio some very minor adjustments were made to some sound effects on the new mixes. Again this was done in conjunction with Tobe Hooper. This does not affect the dialogue track. We will also include the original mono track with no adjustments."

Hmm, after getting the sequel from Arrow, I've been looking for a good release of the original, might get this. Gonna wait, since it's not super-limited, maybe it'll drop in price.

This is £12.99 in HMV. I wanted to cancel my Zavvi order but I combined it with some other items and used the 15% Comic Con discount code and as one other item had shipped it wouldn't let me

I had to pre-order as much as I could together as I'd added that Machu Picchu DVD for 99p to get the discount to work, otherwise I'd have ordered the items separately, making it easier to cancel

I wasn't expecting this low a price in HMV. The Zavvi price with the discount was £15.29. I'll just have to send it back for a refund when it arrives

My copy arrived from Amazon using Prime in crap packaging. My Transformers 2D steelbook was in a card wrapper but then TCSM was just loose on top with another piece of card wrapped around the lot. Luckily seems undamaged.

Have Amazon UK given up their steelbook packaging ? I know they switched to a thinner package earlier this year, but this was ridiculous

I got my copy on Saturday. I was actually shocked because Amazon did not use their usual steelbook packaging - it was basically a Zavvi flimsy brown box job.

Luckily the steel had no damage.

I always get nervous waiting on a steelbook being shipped to me. Wondering what condition it's gonna arrive in. Haven't got my TCM steel yet, but I'm hoping it comes today or tomorrow. I was encouraged last week getting the Nosferatu steel in the mail. It was basically one of the those wraparound cardboard packages, but it arrived in mint condition. Can't complain.

WTF?!? This order was dispatched on Nov 18th. I haven't even received it yet so how could I return it? It was shipped via Asendia. Has anyone heard of that? Do they screw up oversea orders usually?
